Culture 101
In a world where nearly everything can be replicated and copied, a world where businesses have access to the same tools and systems, it is culture that truly differentiates one business from another and culture, that truly has the power to create value.
Culture cannot be copied. Each and every business has its own unique norms and ways of working, its own implicit rule book about what is acceptable and what it not. A culture is ‘how’ an organisation does what it does. In this way, culture represents the collective capacity of a business to create value.
Welcome to the Ingrity Culture
While culture can feel intangible, you can bet that customers ‘see’ the culture of a place and more importantly, make judgements about it.
At Ingrity, we appreciate that it is our culture that distinguishes us, that speaks to our clients about who we are, how we work and the impact we want to have. In fact, it is our culture that enables everything we achieve. It’s not our products, not our services, not our systems or processes, but our culture that enables our success. This is because our culture drives the way we deliver our products and services and the way we use our systems and processes. Our culture is how we do what we do. And, at Ingrity, we do it differently to anyone else.
At Ingrity we:
- SHOW UP and contribute to others – we add value in all situations
- STAND UP and share our perspectives to help others – we make a constructive contribution
- OWN UP and take responsibility so others can rely on us – so people can trust us
- SCALE UP and grow our capacity – we continuously evolve and learn
In practice, this translates into a culture that is curious, proactive, responsive, flexible, willing, accountable, listening, probing, customer-centric, accommodating and very easy to work. But it is more than this. Our secret sauce is that we are driven to solve real business problems. Through our culture, we help our clients unlock business growth and efficiency opportunities, even when faced with challenging situations or pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
This is our culture; this is our collective capacity to create value.
Show Up, Stand Up, Own Up and Scale Up not only define our culture but these qualities are also our Company Values. More than this, Show Up, Stand Up, Own Up and Scale Up are a philosophy that enables us to build a great culture, a culture of active engagement, personal responsibility, and continuous growth. This culture provides a framework for us to contribute our best efforts, stand up for what is right, take ownership of our work and strive for success. That’s our culture, our operating systems, our DNA.
Consistency is Key
Our culture means that we strive to demonstrate our Values every day, what I refer to as ‘values congruent living’. In our culture it is not good enough to Stand Up on most days and then let the team down on occasion by not putting forward your perspective and actively contributing. In our culture, it is not good enough to Own Up most of the time but then disappoint the client when they really need us to deliver. In our culture, is it not good enough to become an expert in a particular data platform and then take your foot off the pedal and stop learning – such action is simply, not congruent with our Values which calls for continuous evolution and growth. Consistency is the key. It is what fuels our reputation.
By demonstrating our Values in an authentic and consistent way, we become known for our defining qualities and our culture becomes our brand.
Our culture of Showing-Up, Standing-Up, Owning-Up and Scaling- Up is what we want to be recognised for, what we want to be known for, the reputation we want to have. It is how we want people to describe and talk about us. But most importantly, it is how we deliver value to our customers. It’s our currency. It’s our promise to our customers, the market and our communities.
Our Culture is How We Realise Our Mission
No matter who you are and the role you have, our deepest urge is to feel that we matter, that what we do makes a difference.
At Ingrity, we get this, with 98% of all employees stating that they are treated as a full and equal member of the business regardless of their position and 91% of people stating that living our Values helps us all to succeed. What’s more, in a recent Great Place To Work independent survey, Ingrity averaged 86% favourable, positive responses across all 62 statements, certifying us as a Great Place To Work.
At Ingrity, we believe that our mission is to unlock the full potential of our people, our customers and our communities and it is through our culture, through living our Values, that we will realise our mission. At Ingrity, we have a profound belief in this philosophy, that through our culture we will help our people, our customers and our communities realise their potential.
Living our Values, consistently and with real heart is the culture which we cherish and protect at Ingrity, it is what sets us apart and it is the way we create value in the world.
